Trump activist Candace Owens says black Americans act like 'trained chimpanzees' when a black person is murdered

Candace Owens believes there’s a double standard when it comes to the way black people react to white-on-black crime and black-on-black crime.

The 31-year-old conservative commentator made the shocking comments during a livestream on YouTube on Tuesday:

If, to be black, you can't speak in proper English, or you're ‘acting white’, right?

To be black, you instantly have to jump up like a fucking trained chimpanzee – excuse my language – like a trained chimpanzee every single time the media runs a story, and act angry, and riot, and talk about how pained you were to see this happen to black people, but keep your mouth shut, right, when it happens black-on-black because if you talk about the black-on-black crime, you're a race traitor, right?

People had a lot of thoughts about it all, especially given the use of "chimpanzee" in reference to African Americans, which has long been considered a racial slur.

Owens, who is African American, is known for her pro-Trump views and criticism of the Black Lives Matter movement.

The YouTube livestream came about after George Floyd, a black man, died in police custody after being arrested in Minneapolis over the weekend.

Floyd was reportedly pinned down to the ground by a white police officer, who had put his knee on the man’s neck.

When news of the death spread, people gathered on mass to protest. The protest turned violent, with police reportedly using tear gas to disperse the crowd.
