Here are 7 things which are illegal to do in a general election

As you may have noticed there's an election on.

YouTuber Tom Scott certainly has noticed, and he's compiled this handy list of seven things that are illegal to do during a British general election.

Those things include spending too much money on campaigning, creating new laws and even, um, granny farming.

Scott also reminds viewers that spoiling the result is illegal - which is why Kerry McCarthy, the current Labour candidate and former MP for Bristol East, was given a police caution for tweeting details of postal votes in 2010. You can watch his full video here.
