When it comes to finding true love - avoid playing games. New research suggests that people who "wear their heart on their sleeve" appear more attractive to others.

Researchers at the University of Tübingen, Germany, asked participants to look at photographs of six women and say how attractive they found them.

They were then shown videos of the women expressing different emotions and asked which emotion they were expressing and how confident they felt in their judgment.

They were then asked a final time how attractive they found each woman.

The researchers found that the more confident the participants were in understanding one of the women's emotions, the more attractive they found them.

Humans interacting with other humans must be able to understand their partner, often without words...

We found the better a participant thought they could understand another's emotion, the more they felt attracted toward that person.

So there you have it, according to this study in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, it might just pay to let the other person know exactly how you feel.
