According to documents seen by Motherboard, an employee of the Environmental Protection Agency is being investigated for calling President Donald Trump a 'f***ing fascist'.

The siege mentality in the EPA may have been created by the announcement the budget will be slashed at the expense of defence of medicare spending.

This followed news that the department was to be muzzled from using the term 'climate change', and the president's decision to deprioritize green initiatives.

Scientists employed by the EPA spent the weeks before President Trump's inauguration copying over documents before they were potentially destroyed.

The new EPA administrator Scott Pruitt has previously sued the agency, calling it 'unlawful' and 'overreaching'.

So tensions, as well as temperatures are running high, and it seems one employee finally decided to let off some steam.

According to records obtained by Motherboard through a Freedom of Information request, one person purporting to be a federal employee contacted the EPA on 24 January 2017.

Just four days into the administration.

Speaking to members of the EPA's Office of the Inspector General (OIG), it was logged as an official complaint.

I have a complaint to file that we are being run by a f***ing fascist.

The Office of Inspectorate General exists in most US government agencies, as an oversight committee for employees.

A spokesperson for the EPA's OIG told Motherboard that unless evidence is provided they can't evaluate of the claim that the president is a fascist.

The name of the employee, whose department is unspecified, was redacted from the records.
