The gender pay gap is at a record low - but new figures suggest that there is a hidden gap in the bonuses given to male and female workers.
Emolument, a website which crowdsources salary data, has found female graduates' bonuses are an average of 46 per cent lower than their male counterparts five years after they leave university.
The data, which was based on figures from 49,000 individuals, shows the average female bonus is £27,000 and the male bonus is £50,000. It reflects figures released in 2013 by the Chartered Institute of Management which found men received bonuses twice as large as their female colleagues' payouts.
The data also found evidence that male graduates from top universities were out-earning female graduates on average.
