Trump ridiculed as he plays golf for the 283rd time of his presidency

Donald Trump was heckled as his motorcade passed people on the street, while he was on his way to play golf for the 283rd time of his presidency.

The president was reportedly booed and taunted with signs, which mocked the cognitive test that he has recently been bragging about, as he made his way to Virginia golf club.

There were also reports of a small number of Trump supporters who had lined the streets to greet the president.

Trump's latest trip to a golf course, comes as coronavirus deaths in the United States surpassed 153,000 and cases continue to rise well above 4 million, more than any other country in the world.

As CNN's Jim Sciutto calculated, this is now the 283rd time that Trump has played golf since January 2017 and 367th day he has spent at a Trump property since taking office.

His visit also coincided with Washington failing to agree on an extension to the $600 weekly payment scheme that was helping Americans, whose jobs were unsafe to go to during the pandemic. Millions of people across the US will now miss out on these payments causing more concern and uncertainty.

Needless to say, people were not impressed that Trump was once again playing golf at such a crucial point in his presidency.

This isn't even the first time that Trump played golf during the pandemic, with his trips reportedly costing the equivalent of 334 years of the president's salary in taxpayers' money. Trump also spent an average of one in five days in 2019 on a golf course and has also had the audacity to criticise Obama for doing the exact same thing but not even by half as much.
