President Trump on Rob Reiner: 'He was a deranged person'

Outgoing Georgia representative Marjorie Taylor Greene – once a staunch supporter of US president Donald Trump, now one of his biggest critics – has said the killing of film director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele is “not about politics or political enemies”, after the president ranted on Truth Social that Reiner had a “raging obsession” over him.
Reiner, known for directing classic films such as Stand By Me, When Harry Met Sally, The Princess Bride, Misery and A Few Good Men, was found dead alongside his wife in their Los Angeles home on Sunday afternoon.
A son of the Reiners, 32-year-old Nick, was arrested and booked for murder later that day, is currently in custody and slated to be in court on Tuesday morning.
Trump first reacted to the news on Truth Social on Monday, when he wrote that Reiner “reportedly” died “due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME”.
The Urban Dictionary defines ‘TDS’ as “a mental condition in which a person has been driven effectively insane due to their dislike of Donald Trump”.
The president continued: “He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness.”
Yes, he really said that,
And Trump doubled down on the comments during a press conference (also on Monday), when he claimed Reiner was “very bad for our country”.
Sharing a screenshot of Trump’s Truth Social post, Greene criticised the fellow Republican by writing: “This is a family tragedy, not about politics or political enemies."
And she wasn’t the only one from the world of politics to condemn Trump’s remarks, as Democrat commentator Harry Sisson branded him an “evil sack of s***”:
California governor Gavin Newsom wrote: “This is a sick man”:
Massachusetts senator Ed Markey said Trump is “a disgusting human being”:
California representative Zoe Lofgren described the president’s remarks as “a new low for this petty, hateful man”:
Washington senator Patty Murray condemned the “black-hearted and despicable statement” from Trump, who he said is “deeply unwell and unfit to serve”:
Republican representative Thomas Massie challenged “anyone to defend” what he said was “inappropriate and disrespectful discourse”:
