Two weeks feels like a long time ago, doesn’t it? 14 whole days of quarantine!

But those of you with a good memory might remember how angry some people got on 6 April when the World Health Organization (WHO) announced on that Lady Gaga would be a special guest during one of their press conferences

Similarly, people flocked to social media to ask why the world’s leading health organisation was working with the Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globe-winning music artist and actress.

The sentiment seemed to be that Lady Gaga had no place during a global pandemic...

But during the press conference, Lady Gaga announced she was putting on an all-star benefit concert – called the One World: Together At Home concert – to raise money for charities and healthcare professionals affected by Covid-19.

Tonight, the concert has finally arrived – and it looks set to raise over tens of millions of dollars for the World Health Organisation.

A host of celebrities are expected to appear on the virtual concert, including Paul McCartney, Billie Eilish, Elton John, John Legend, Chris Martin, Andrea Bocelli, Lizzo, Maluma, Kacey Musgraves, Alanis Morissette, Billie Joe Armstrong, J Balvin, Burna Boy, Stevie Wonder, Eddie Vedder and Keith Urban. The concert will be streamed on YouTube, Twitter and Facebook.

It has been reported that Gaga has raised almost $5m a day since fundraising began for the project, which is a huge sum of money in such a short space of time. It’ll surely come in handy seeing as Trump has announced that he’s going to be withdrawing funding for WHO.
