If you are a person of a certain age you will be more than familiar with the old television test card that the BBC used to screen between broadcast hours.
It looked a bit like this:

There isn't much need for that on our television screens anymore as they either stick the news on all night or one of those weird late night gambling programmes.
Anyway, it appears that although the girl has vanished, the BBC still have a use for that creepy clown.
Yesterday, the Beeb's weather site crashed as everyone was desperately trying to log on and find out just when this incessant heatwave is going to end.
When you tried to access the site you were greeted with an error code and that old familiar clown face staring back at you but this time he came complete with flames.

Images of the clown soon began to do the rounds on Twitter and a lot of people were really freaked out by the clown's new fiery makeover.

Others complimented the hilarious design.
