Gary Barlow’s big announcement wasn’t quite what Take That fans were after - 14 best reactions

Take That’s Gary Barlow has launched a new wine range, but it’s not necessarily what his fans expected.

Teasing his 4.1 million Twitter fans on Tuesday, he uploaded a video with the text “presenting the most perfect duet” and wrote: “Got some news to share with you this week, any guesses?”

Excited fans guessed the surprise could be a duet between himself and Adele, Ronan Keating, Elton John, or Robbie Williams.

The Adele duet didn’t seem like much of a stretch given the singer-songwriter has this week teased fans with a new song.

But, updating his fans yesterday afternoon, Barlow revealed that a guess that it is a new album was “miles off”.

This morning he finally put his fans out of their misery by revealing that the big secret is his new wine range.

Some Twitter users had to make fun of Barlow’s new venture, with the name of the range a point of amusement for some includingThe Daily Mirror’s Ian Hyland who quipped: “Can’t believe Gary Barlow launched his own range of wine and didn’t call it Grape That.”

Alongside the good-natured ribbing he received, Barlow received lots of well wishes on his new venture.

The musician also shared the news on Instagram and received messages of congratulations from singer Ronan Keating, presenter Olly Smith, and producer Ben Winston.

Will you be giving it a try?
