Although he regularly tweets witty things about Formula One and the travails of student life at Edinburgh's Heriot-Watt University, Andrew Paterson's Twitter feed has never known a weekend like the one just gone.

Adopting the classic pose a footballer takes when he signs a new contract with his club, Paterson broke the news of his new shelf-stacking/checkout deal with Asda.

His tweet went viral, earning over 18,000 retweets, gaining the attention from the likes of comedian Kevin Bridges, Eurosport and lad banter sites aplenty.
