Forget the football. More than anything, this World Cup was about the mad, unbridled passion of fans.

Perhaps no one sums this up more than Croatian president Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, the latest social media sensation to win our hearts.

England may still be mourning its lose to Croatia - and the chance to reach a World Cup final for the first time since 1966 - but seeing Grabar-Kitarović's passion during her country's 4-2 loss to France may have just about been worth it.

Her tournament reportedly kicked off in economy class with fellow Croatian fans.

She appeared to watch most of the games from the non-VIP stands.

Her clothing was inspirational throughout.

While leaders of other countries stuck to dark suits, she basically wrapped herself up in the Croatian flag and called it an outfit.

She seemed to love every second.

Especially congratulating the players.

Even when the rain began pouring down as trophies and medals were awarded, she didn't care.

Her celebrations just didn't stop.

In fact, are France really the most deserving World Cup winners given she's around?

Emmanuel Macron put on a good show too, to be fair.

But he loses marks for not dressing head-to-toe in the French flag.
