10 of the most wonderful things Taylor Swift has ever done

Taylor Swift spoke out against the music industry once again this week after Apple said its new streaming service would not pay artists for the first three months of its existence.

After reading Swift's impassioned open letter, the company's bosses changed their minds and confirmed they will pay artists for their work on Apple Music.

Here are 10 of the other wonderful things Taylor Swift has done:

1. Donating money to a family without health insurance

After fireman Aaron VanRiper attended the scene of a crash earlier this month, only to find that his wife Amber and son Jonathan, 7, were the victims.

While the pair were recovering in hospital, VanRiper set up a GoFundMe page to help pay for their treatment. He was slightly surprised, to say the least, when he discovered a $15,000 donation from a certain Taylor Swift.

The singer's agent later confirmed it really was her.

2. Fighting back against misleading gossip

After OK! sent this tweet which seemed to imply Swift was expecting, the singer "dropped the hottest mic" on the magazine ever.

The story actually related to Swift helping a couple make their birth announcement a few days earlier. She therefore decided it was time to pull out this splendid killer whale meme.

3. Using her 'hottest woman in the world' platform to talk about feminism

After being dubbed the "hottest woman in the world" by Maxim, Swift decided not to talk about her looks and instead used an interview in the magazine to speak about “probably the most important movement that you could embrace".

I think that when I used to say, ‘Oh, feminism’s not really on my radar,’ it was because when I was just seen as a kid, I wasn’t as threatening.

I didn’t see myself being held back until I was a woman. Or the double standards in headlines, the double standards in the way stories are told, the double standards in the way things are perceived. A man writing about his feelings from a vulnerable place is brave; a woman writing about her feelings from a vulnerable place is oversharing or whining. Misogyny is ingrained in people from the time they are born.

4. Dodging the paparazzi like a pro

As we reported at the time, she might not be able to quite pull off a moonwalk like Michael Jackson but we’ll sure give her an A+ for ingenuity...

5. Having the perfect response to red carpet questioninginane questions
6. Looking out for a bullied fanlengthy note back on Tumblr7. Stalking her fans (in a good way) and even giving that its own namesnoop on her fans online
8. Tracking down a fan at the Grammys just to give her a huggiven a huge hug by the singer

"Best day of my life," Ralke later explained on Instagram.

9. Consoling a fan who had just been dumped by her boyfriend

After stumbling across a fan’s hopeful message on Tumblr, in which she described a painful split from her boyfriend, Swift offered her condolences, gave some sage relationship advice and even put together a playlist of songs to help the fan get over her ex.

10. Helping a fan pay off her student loan

After spotting "super fan" Rebekah Bortnicker's video online, in which she'd recreated the Friends intro with Swift and pals, the singer sent a cryptic message on Tumblr with an envelope emoji.

On the following Monday, a box full of gifts arrived at Bortnicker's house includin a cheque for $1989 to help pay back her student loan.
