Jeffrey R. Epstein is a publicist at Disney who just happens to share his name with the convicted sex offender who died in jail over the weekend.

After Epstein’s death became a lightning rod for conspiracy theorists and political cranks, the living Epstein received a deluge of abuse on Twitter.

This is how Jeffrey R. Epstein spent his weekend:

It’s hard to say what’s dumber - attacking a random guy who happens to be called Jeffrey Epstein or tweeting at someone who is in the news for literally being dead.

R. Epstein’s friend, Community actress Yvette Nicole Brown, tried to get people to lay off him on Saturday.

And some other unfortunate namesakes commented to show their support.

There was financial planner, and not former Trump advisor, George Papadopoulos.

Kayla Moore – who is definitely NOT the wife of Republican politician Roy Moore.

And Karen, who… thinks other Karens have given the name a bad reputation recently…

While we’re on the subject, let’s remember the hard life of computer scientist John Lewis, who has to remind the internet every Christmas that he is not the UK retail store.

According to HowManyOfMe.com, there were 48 people in the US with the name "Jeffrey Epstein" at the time of the last census.
