Acid attack survivor Rupa used to cover her face with a scarf. Now she's launched her own clothing label, Rupa Designs.
The 22-year-old Delhi-based designer was attacked by her stepmother in 2008. She dropped her surname after being disowned by her father, who supported his wife over her.
She told the Daily Mail:
I always wanted to be a designer but after the attack there was a pause in my life. I was so insecure and embarrassed by my scars I used to cover my face with a scarf.
I always hung onto my dream but I never knew that one day it would be possible and I would be launching my own label.
In these images, put on Facebook by photographer Rahul Saharan, Rupa and fellow survivors Rita, Sonam, Laxmi and Chanchal, model her collection.
