Donald Trump Jr. has been roundly mocked on social media after claiming the “likelihood of Nancy Pelosi praying for Trump is about the same as the likelihood of Satan running around quoting the Scriptures.” Unfortunately for the President’s son, Satan actually does quote the scriptures according to the official source of the Bible.
In essence, Trump Jr. is inadvertently suggesting Nancy Pelosi is in fact praying for his father. This is the last thing he wanted to happen.
The Christians of Twitter, instead of the usual Nazi apologists and stereotypical trolls, had thoughts and they were keen to share them with the President’s son.
One preacher in particular was having none of it.
An author and expert was equally outraged.
This man even had the receipts.
In The Merchant of Venice, a fairly renowned play by a reasonably acclaimed playwright, William Shakespeare writes:
The devil can cite Scripture for his purpose. An evil soul producing holy witness is like a villain with a smiling cheek, a goodly apple rotten at the heart.
Clearly the Trump family hasn't read Shakespeare or the Bible.
