Elon Musk's Cybertruck demonstration backfired badly after "bulletproof" windows smashed

Elon Musk’s “cybertruck” presentation has gone so badly that it has echoes of Homer Simpson’s attempt to design a car for his brother during the golden days of The Simpsons.

The event descended into chaos when a stunt intended to test the “bulletproof” strength of the vehicle resulted in smashed windows, the very opposite of what was supposed to happen.

Musk introduced the demonstration with the words:

We created an exoskeleton. It is literally bulletproof to a 9mm handgun.

Tesla’s chief designer, Franz von Holzhausen, asked Musk if he could throw a metal ball at the window and the result was a horrifying smash. Musk’s response?

Oh my f**king god!

Before wryly adding:

Maybe that was a little hard.

The live stream caught the attention of the people on Twitter and schadenfreude reigned supreme.

There was the Simpsons comparison nobody could resist.

There was even space for another cartoon reference.

Money can't buy you everything it appears.
