Someone has petitioned the Pope to bless DC's Metro, because why not?

A petition has emerged, written by a frustrated Washingtonian, imploring the Pope to bless the city's Metro system in an attempt to make it run effectively.

We've all had our frustrations with the Tube, but this novel take on how to improve transport infrastructure is a truly outside-the-box idea - and it has been supported by over 2,600 people as a result.

The petition, written by Noah Rosenheck, reads simply:

At this point I'm willing to try anything.

Attached to the petition is also a letter to the Pontiff:

Dear Pope Francis,

Our Metro system is having some troubles. All of DC would be grateful if you could find the time to bless it during your upcoming stay. Maybe a Papal Blessing is just what it needs.

The Pope is currently visiting the US and will today deliver the first-ever joint address to Congress by a pontiff before a religious service at the Ground Zero site.

So, y'know people, there's a window before he leaves - get signing.
