A Californian woman has been left “heartbroken” after discovering she’s been watering a fake plant for two years.
24 year-old Caelie Wilkes took to Facebook at the end of last month to share the devastating news – not to mention her extensive succulent care plan, including a watering schedule and washing its leaves:
On the devastating realisation, she said:
It was so heartbreaking because it was my first succulent I was about to 'keep alive' so it inspired me to get more house plants and really it turned into me having a green thumb.
At the time of writing, the Facebook post has over 7,000 shares and 12,000 likes.
Wilkes never expected the post to go viral and said:
I wrote this post for my family and friends. Succulents don’t require a large amount of water. It was very easy to overlook.
The reactions to the viral post were priceless:
Think on the bright side, it will be as beautiful and perfect as always.
I didn't find out my ex wife was fake till 3 years too late, kudos to you.
I know faux plants are really getting good but come on!
It’s an innocent enough mistake… maybe.
