King Charles jokes about Trump’s ballroom project during state dinner

More people believe in “ghosts” and “telepathy” than they do Donald Trump’s ballroom, according to CNN’s data guru.
Trump’s ballroom project has been the source of much controversy: first, because he began demolishing part of the White House’s East Wing without congressional approval, second, because he made the repeated promise that average Americans wouldn’t pay a cent towards it, and thirdly, because he went back on that promise and now it may reportedly end up costing the taxpayer $1 billion to help fund it.
On Wednesday (6 May), CNN’s data expert Harry Enten revealed just how disliked the ballroom project is with a comparison that really has to be seen to be believed, as he explained more people believe in ghosts and telepathy than Trump’s ballroom.
A chart displayed on the screen suggested 39 per cent of Americans “support or believe in” ghosts and 29 per cent believe in telepathy.
“And the new White House ballroom comes in below both of those, at 28 per cent. So the bottom line is this: this new White House ballroom is most certainly not popular. More Americans believe in ghosts, and slightly more, though, within the margin of error, believe in telepathy. And I will note that our cameraman right now is laughing like nobody’s business,” Enten said.
Someone labelled it the “funniest s**t I’ve ever seen”.
Another person mocked: “Support ghosts, believe in telepathy, kill ballroom.”
Someone else argued: “Funny but sad. Those first two figures are part of why we’re in this situation.”
Enten added: “More people believe in ghosts than believe in this ballroom. And a lot of folks just disagree with Trump on government spending and believe he has the wrong priorities like this.”
He also noted that 67 per cent of Americans believe Trump is focused on the wrong priorities. His marked push for the ballroom comes amid the Iran war, which has seen gas prices rise exponentially.
