Elon Musk is a complex and controversial man but we can rest assured that he wants your dogs to be safe in his cars.
Over the weekend, the South African technology tycoon, responded to several questions that he was asked after confirming that a new range of Tesla Model 3 cars will be released.

One of the questions asked was whether he would consider including a feature that would allow dogs to stay in cars and avoid any of the dangers that can occur from a car's interior heating.
Twitter user Josh Atchley, suggested that the 'dog mode' could allow for music to be played, air conditioning to remain on when the car is stationary and have a screen displaying a message informing others that the dog was fine.
@elonmusk Can you put a dog mode on the Tesla Model 3. Where the music plays and the ac is on, with a display on sc… https://t.co/msyNb20oFu— Josh Atchley (@Josh Atchley) 1539916387
Musk's answer was short and to the point but he seems on board.

As Engadget points out, Tesla already has a feature installed that keeps their cars cool and animals safe.
However, this isn't always apparent to passersby who might be prone to breaking into cars to rescue pets or call the police, something that a 'dog mode' might prevent.
Of course, this is only a tweet from Musk, which aren't always that reliable, so this could just be a pipe dream that could take some time to come to fruition.
That being said these sort of stories will help spread awareness of these features in electric cars, especially with more coming to the market.
