IHOP’s delicious buttermilk and flavoured pancakes with syrup and a side of sausage or bacon can be hard to resist. Actor and comedian Adam Sandler knows that as well as anybody.
That’s why he tried to grab breakfast at one of their branches in Long Island, New York last week and was accidentally turned away by a staff member who didn’t recognise the Uncut Gems star who would have had to have waited 30 minutes to be seated anyway.
Footage of the incident went viral after it was shared on TikTok by the woman who turned him away. In response Sandler wrote on Twitter a few days later: “For the record, I only left IHOP because the nice woman told me the all-you-can-eat deal didn’t apply to milkshakes,” he wrote.

Well, IHOP have taken Sandler’s words under some consideration and in honour of the great man 10th May will now by Milkshake Monday!

“We take our guests’ suggestions very seriously in an effort to continually shake things up and satisfy all palettes with our signature commitment to IHOSPITALITY,” said Kieran Donahue, the CMO of IHOP in a press release.

What day does the Milkshake Monday promotion start?
IHOP is declaring May 10, 2021, as Milkshake Monday and will last for that day only.
The day was created with Sandler in mind after his “his viral visit to a busy IHOP restaurant last week in Manhasset, Long Island, NY.”
What time can I get the milkshakes?
The “All-You-Can-Drink milkshakes” can be purchased from 12:00- 8 pm EST.
Where can I get the IHOP milkshake?
The milkshake will be available at 19 IHOP locations across Long Island, New York.
What are the milkshake flavours?
The milkshakes come in four different flavours made with hand-scooped, creamy ice cream. Check out the flavours below.

Although the day has humorous elements to it, the promotion also has another sweet addition—fundraising.
Milkshake Monday will help to raise funds for Comedy Gives Back, a nonprofit that helps comedians get the help they need, such as mental wellness and crisis support, especially in the pandemic when comedy venues weren’t open.
Every milkshake sold on Milkshake Monday will automatically give a US $1 donation to the organization. Up to $50,000 will be donated to the organization.
As Amber J. Lawson, CEO of Comedy Gives Back said, “A delicious meal of pancakes and milkshakes can make you happy any time of day, and while we could all use a laugh right about now, some could use a lot more,” said Amber J.Lawson, the CEO of Comedy Gives Back. “A handful of comedians are household names, but the majority are not; we are grateful for IHOP’s support to help working comedians stay afloat in this challenging time,” she continued.
