After Fox News completely lost its sh*t following Beyonce's Super Bowl performance, you'd be forgiven for thinking we'd reached peak unnecessary whiteness.
But no, far from it. Because, YouTuber Samantha Harvey decided to dedicate her time and effort into 'translating' the lyrics of Rihanna's new (killer) single Work before recording her very own stripped-down, acoustic-sounding, de-dubbed, ballad-y version.
Dry! ...Me a desert him
Nuh time to have you lurking
Him ah go act like he nuh like it
You know I dealt with you the nicest
Nuh body touch me you nuh righteous
Nuh badda, text me in a crisis
Harvey felt the need to anglicise them so us white guys wouldn't feel left out and/or excluded:
Trying to desert me
No time to have you lurking
I know you told me you don't like it
But you know I dealt with you the nicest
Nobody touching me so righteous
Nobody text me in a crisis
However, people on the internet have made good use of their wifi connection to deservedly rip the p*ss out of whitewashed versions of Beyonce and Rihanna with the hilariously deadpan hashtag #TrapCover, reversing what it sounds like when white people constantly do their 'own' versions of rap, hip hop or dancehall.
