Piers Morgan accuses John Legend of 'virtue signalling' for rewriting 'Baby it's Cold Outside' for the MeToo era

Piers Morgan has only just made his return to Good Morning Britain, and he's already found something to get disproportionately worked up about.

Upon hearing the news that Kelly Clarkson and John Legend had re-recorded creepy Christmas hit 'Baby it's Cold Outside' to be less, well, creepy, he pitched a fit.

He called Legend a "virtue-signally horror story" before, bizarrely, blaming Legend's wife Chrissy Teigen for the lyrics, despite her having nothing to do with music.

John Legend, you virtue signalling horror story and that dreadful wife of his, what’s her name? Chrissy Teigen. They’ve sat there plotting how to ruin a great Dean Martin classic just in time for Christmas.

When Susanna Reid pointed out that maybe he should leave Teigen out of it, he said:

She’s Miss Wokeville on Twitter. She’s got a hold of poor old Legend, who used to be great, and now he’s re-writing one of the classics of Christmas. Why? Why? Who wanted this re-written? What a load of nonsense.

As someone pointed out, if it upsets him so much, he could just...not listen to it.
