One of these eight people will be Time's person of the year

Time magazine has announced its person of the year shortlist. The title is awarded to the person, group or idea that, for better or worse, has done the most to influence the events of 2014.

The winner will be announced tomorrow.

Roger Goodell – executive of the US National Football League

Vladimir Putin – president of Russia

The Ebola caregivers

The Ferguson protesters

Masoud Barzani – president of Iraqi Kurdistan

Jack Ma – founder of Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba
