Lizzo taunts fans with latest plot twist in Chris Evans DM saga

We’re all still rooting for Lizzo and Chris Evans to be the next great celebrity couple.

The Truth Hurts singer has made no secret of her burning admiration for the Hollywood heartthrob, but now we know he’s also a big fan of hers.

A week after Lizzo admitted to sending her crush a direct Instagram message – and then receiving a cheeky note back – she offered fans a lightning-speed update on how their DM flirtation has progressed.

Responding to a TikTok query which read: “Lizzo, how are things with Chris Evans going? Keep us updated bestie.”

She replied by playfully taunting viewers with a split-second screenshot of their exchange, laughing: “Let’s see what your pause game is like motherf***ers.”

Luckily, our pause game is pretty on point, and we were able to make out at least part of their interaction.

Lizzo wrote back to Evans after he told her there was “no shame in a drunk DM” and “God knows I’ve done worse on this app.”

She said: “Well.. they say you miss 100 per cent of the shots you never take (and even though I unsent it like a dork) I’m glad you know I exist now.”

It is pretty baffling to us that the Grammy-Award winner could ever view herself as a nobody in his eyes, but there you go.

He then responded: “Of course I do! I’m a fan! Keep up the great work!! Xxx.”

Yep, she got three kisses from Captain America.

Their conversation did continue but even the most eagle-eyed sleuth couldn’t see past her head which was blocking their most recent chat.

In it, Evans mentioned something about buying something… Could it be a ring?

Regardless, fans continue to be delighted by the potential budding romance.

“This is the only video I’ve ever cared about enough to save and pause to read,” wrote one TikToker.

“The fact he sends kisses, YES LUV,” commented another.

The whole thing started out when the R&B star sent Evans three emojis (a gust of wind, a sports person and a basketball), suggesting she was shooting her shot – which means to be brave and take a chance.

She admitted she’d had a few tipples at the time, warning fans: ““Don’t drink and DM, kids....”

She then told viewers: “The reason I’m upset about this one is because I know I’m not gonna be able to marry him, and honestly, it hurts me to the core.

“Because damn, papa, he’s a rare breed, no comparing.”

Her screengrab at the time showed no response from the Marvel hero, but a follow-up clip posted early the following Monday morning showed he had since been in touch.

And the rest is DM history.

It’s not the first time the pair have shared their admiration for one another.

Back in 2019, Evans shared a video of a young girl dancing to Lizzo’s hit Juice: writing, “This kid is cooler than I could ever hope to be.”

The songstress followed up by tweeting back: “Wow marry me”.

At the MTV Movie Awards later that month, Lizzo joked that she was “going home” after discovering Evans was not attending the ceremony.

Asked if he ever responded to her proposal, she replied: “It’s Chris Evans. He ain’t responding. If he responded, I wouldn’t be here right now. I would be on my honeymoon.”
