In a recent tweet, the 44th President of the United States Barack Obama condemned the racism and violence of the far-right in Charlottesville, and broke a Twitter record while doing so.

The tweet in question quotes Nelson Mandela, and over night became the most-liked tweet in the website's history to date.

No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion.

It's been liked by three million people, at time of writing.

Keen tweeter and current President of the United States Donald Trump, on the other hand, has been widely criticised for failing to condemn white supremacist and neo-Nazi protesters during his initial and follow up responses to Charlottesville.

As you know, Mr Trump is a very competitive person. We all remember how obsessed he was about the size of his inauguration crowd compared to Obama's eight years before, and the value he places on ratings.

One Twitter user has a great tip for Mr Trump if he's feeling at all outdone by Mr Obama's record breaking tweet.

Lawyer Andrew Weinstein tweeted:

Barack Obama now has the most liked tweet of all time. If Donald Trump wants to break this record he need only tweet two words - I resign.
