Fox News had a complete meltdown over the CIA 'torture' report

Perhaps we shouldn't be shocked by Fox News having a complete meltdown over something, but host Andrea Tantaros's reaction to the CIA torture report was quite something to behold.

Despite the barbaric and inhumane methods that were used to ineffectually gather reliable intelligence, Tantaros implores that the decision to go public with the report was purely a political move by the unpatriotic Democrats.

Sunlight at the CIA? I'm sorry, that's one place I don't need sunlight. I don't think they need to give me a lot of transparency at the CIA.

Without the merest hint of skepticism from the sofa of rootin'-tootin' gun-shootin' Muricans she calls colleagues, Tantaros continues:

The Bush administration did what the American public wanted and that was do whatever it takes to keep us safe.

That, of course, included waterboarding, shackling detainees to the ceiling so they were forced to defecate on themselves and something called rectal rehydration among too many other disturbing acts to detail here.

But for Tantaros these are mere details...

The United States of America is awesome, we are awesome. But we've had this discussion. We’ve closed the book on it, and we’ve stopped doing it. And the reason they want to have this discussion is not to show how awesome we are. This administration wants to have this discussion to show us how we are not awesome.

This of course, is not the first time Fox News has proven itself to have entirely lost the plot. And we fear it probably won't be the last...
