Putin reaches peak paranoia by standing a cricket pitch away from crowd

In a speech to Russia’s Security Council yesterday (5 April), Putin appeared even further away from his audience than usual, prompting speculation that he's more concerned than ever about assassination attempts.

The president appointed 17 new Moscow ambassadors of the US and EU, but his speech would've required some serious listening, as it's reported he was stood a whopping 60 feet away - or an entire cricket pitch.

However, Putin reportedly maintains that the distance is for sanitary reasons.
