Irish politician talks 'cleaning up' authorities and uses worst washing machine analogy ever

Irish politician, Mattie McGrath, is going viral for an analogy that made virtually no sense - and it's about laundry.

He was criticising An Bord Pleanála (the planning body for authorities in Ireland) when he went off on the tangent about 'cleaning up'.

"When clothes are hanging out on the line on a good summer’s day like today they’d be fairly well stained," he began.

"I’m not up to speed on the capsules that go in, the type of them that go into the washing machine...It used to be Surf or Daz."
